Zonta Women in STEM Award

The Zonta Women in STEM Award encourages women to pursue education, career opportunities and leadership roles in STEM fields.

The Zonta Women in STEM Award uplifts innovation and celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of women between 18-35 years of age in STEM fields and acknowledge their groundbreaking research, pioneering discovers, and/or exemplary contributions to advancing the knowledge and innovation in a STEM field. By recognizing and supporting these exceptional women, Zonta aims to inspire future generations and foster inclusivity and diversity in the world of STEM.

The program operates at the Zonta club, district and international levels.  Each Zonta district may submit one applicant for consideration for an international scholarship.  Zonta International will offer 16 international awards of US$10,000 each and a complimentary one-year supporting membership in Zonta International for the next financial year.

What you can do?

  • The application process must start with a Zonta club. .  Please download an application, award application description, award guidelines, evaluation criteria, include your Club name and contact details and deadline and forward it to your local University.  It is advised that applications should be received by Zonta clubs by: 15 Nov 25

  • Club recipient is to be selected and application is to be forwarded to Women in STEM program co-ordinator by: 15 Dec 25

  • A District selection panel will select a District winner and forward application details to ZI Headquarters by: 15 Jan 26

  • A Zonta International jury will evaluate all the applications and select 16 for the international award of US$10,000 each and a complementary one-year supporting membership in ZI for the next financial year.
