Coercive Control Uncovered: Awareness, Action, Advocacy - Webinar

Join Soroptimist International Australia and Zonta for an insightful and empowering webinar exploring coercive control — what it is, why it matters, and how we can work together to create stronger protections for all. Our expert presenters will unpack how coercive control operates as a form of domestic and family abuse, what current and emerging legislation means, and how individuals and communities can advocate for meaningful change and safety.

Meet our presenters: Vicki Johnston is a respected domestic violence specialist, counsellor, and trainer, with extensive experience representing on local, regional, and state advisory groups. Her outstanding contributions have been recognised through numerous awards, including Heffron Woman of the Year, Finalist for NSW Woman of the Year (2011), and Maroubra Woman of the Year (2017).

Daphne White is a passionate advocate, educator, and Director of The Orange Story, an education and consultancy agency based in Geraldton, Western Australia. She specialises in domestic, family, and sexual violence education and training across regional WA, delivering both in-person and online. Daphne also provides consultancy services to organisations seeking to strengthen their responses to family and domestic violence.

Together, Vicki and Daphne will guide participants through a powerful discussion on recognising coercive control, understanding its impacts, and using our collective voice to drive change. The webinar is proudly supported by the Zonta Club of Canberra Breakfast, Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin, National Council of Women ACT, CWA ACT, Soroptimist International of Australia and its Clubs.
