District 24 is part of a world wide organisation of women in business and the professions - we voluntarily apply our time and talents to working locally and globally, on a variety of service projects and advocacy initiatives to advance the economic, professional, educational, health, legal and political status of women.

Working in New South Wales & the Australian Capital Territory to advance the status of women everywhere

In 2009, Gemma Sisia’s work was recognised with the inaugural award of District 24 Honorary Membership.
Originally from Guyra NSW, Gemma is the founder of the School of St Jude in Tanzania. Clubs in D24 began supporting the School in 2005 with the Zonta Club of Botany Bay sponsoring a girl to attend the School.

From D24 News: District 24 turned out in style to mark International Women’s Day this year with an event at NSW Parliament House.  Hosted by the Hon Richard Torbay, Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly, we gathered in the Speaker’s Garden in support of District 24 Honorary Member Gemma Sisia, founder of the School of St Jude, Tanzania. Over $2000 was raised to support the School.
