I have been a member of three Zonta Clubs (Ballarat, Sydney, Sydney Breakfast) and worked with fellow Zontians to start three clubs (Melton, Newcastle, Sydney Breakfast), so have had the opportunity to meet a wide range of members with various reasons for joining Zonta.
My reason for joining Zonta in 1990 was to spend time with like minded women of all ages and give back to the community I live in, by creating opportunities for women with fewer resources and providing hands on assistance for our service projects. These continue to be the reasons I am a member of Zonta.
In ‘real life’, I have worked in the financial services industry for the past 12 years, currently for CommInsure (a division of the Commonwealth Bank), Australia’s largest life insurance company. CommInsure sells life insurance, general insurance, and investment products to individuals and business entities. I manage the relationship between CommInsure and two of their National Accounts, which deliver about 45% of the total retail insurance sales results. My responsibilities include developing strategies to generate new business sales of advice products, retention of life insurance products, develop sales and marketing tools to support advisers and their clients, and working with a team of state based Business Development Managers.
I am a supporter of the Fred Hollows Foundation, The Hamlin Fistula Fund and Unicef. I enjoy travel, theatre, reading and spending time with family and friends.
